Lake/Forest Lake Bluff Chamber:  Tell us a about Source Healing and the services you offer?

Christie Jordan: Source Healing is an inspired acupuncture and holistic health clinic that's been in business for over 24 years in the Chicago area. We opened an office in Winnetka in 2016, and as we grew, decided to open an office in Lake Forest this year. We are still mostly a word-of-mouth business where our patients have come to trust us not only with their well-being, but with their family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. We specialize in treating people for any health issues related to stress, anxiety, insomnia, digestive imbalance, women's health (including fertility, pre-natal, and peri menopause) as well as chronic pain and autonomic issues, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune imbalance. We also offer a service for lymphatic detoxing, naturopathic medicine, Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and nutritional and lifestyle guidance.

LF/LB: What inspired you to pursue a career in holistic health?

CJ:  My father practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbs towards the end of his life and had a thriving practice where he was able to help so many patients before he passed. Watching his journey inspired me to educate patients on physical well-being and prevention, while also incorporating emotional and spiritual awareness.

LF/LB: What is your vision or hope for the future of your business now that you have expanded to Lake Forest?

CJ:  We always had great patients from Lake Forest that would drive down to our Chicago office over 24 years ago! As we were looking at our current Lake Forest office, the agent told us that this used to be the office of an acupuncturist “legend” and I immediately knew it was Dr. Deng of Lake Forest! It was a clear sign that this is where we are meant to be.

We want to affect people’s health and lives for the better one person at a time. We know that when we treat one person, we are working with everyone that this person has impact on, including their family, friends, community.

LF/LB:  How does Source Healing plan to give back to the community?

CJ:  Over the last 24 years, we have donated to organizations that help children in the Chicagoland area such as the Hephzibah House, Englewood Charter School, and sponsored dodgeball teams and baseball teams, among other groups. In our communities, we put on educational events to help people help themselves in their own well-being as well as support other small business owners in their journey.

LF/LB: Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or your business?

CJ:  Balancing and harmonizing oneself has a ripple effect in the world around us. Healing the rifts within us helps heal the rifts in the external world, as everything is energy. Our own well-being is one area where we have agency over in a world that is out of control. We’d be honored to be a part of your own healing journey! Source Healing is located in downtown Chicago, Winnetka, and Lake Forest – we are accepting new patients and also accept insurance. We’d love to see you soon!
