Member Spotlight: Steve Nolan, Owner, Next Day Access of North Suburban Chicago
Lake/Forest Lake Bluff Chamber: Tell us a little bit about Next Day Access and the products and services your offer?
Steve Nolan: We are an accessibility company. Whether that's lifts, wheelchair ramps or home modifications, we are in the business of helping seniors and people with disabilities stay safe and comfortable in their home or access a place of business.
LF/LB: What inspired you pursue a career in this industry?
SN: I spent more than 30 years of my career managing large marketing and communications organizations in corporate America. I always knew I wanted to start my own business and I always knew I was looking to do something with a higher purpose than I often found in my corporate life. I'm dealing with aging in place issues with friends and family and I was drawn to the simple idea of helping people age in place safely and comfortably.
LF/LB: What is your vision or hope for the future of your business?
SN: Honestly, it's simply helping as many people as we can. The reward for us is the difference we are making when we install a stairlift in someone's home who hasn't been to the second floor in months or years. It's a very gratifying business to be a part of.
LF/LB: How does Next Day Access support and give back to the community?
SN: I was born and raised in the north suburbs. I chose to start my business here in Lake Bluff because I owe so much to what this community has given me. Giving back to the community comes in many forms - the first is simply helping the community navigate the aging in place process. We also sponsor and are involved in a lot of civic and charitable organizations.
LF/LB: Is there anything else you would like to share about your business?
SN: We couldn't be more excited about continuing to serve these communities and supporting the many residents who need our services.
