Volunteer Preserve Work Day

Join Lake Forest Open Lands' restoration ecologists for our Saturday morning volunteer work session. Connect with the land while learning about the natural world. Wear tough clothing and appropriate footwear. We will provide work gloves. Trail access and parking are located on James Court off of Telegraph Rd. No need to register. "Due North II" -- Join us for another excursion to conductor Julia Davids' homeland, the great white north of Canada. Featured works include Imant Raminsh's moving and rhythmic "Magnificat" for mezzo soprano soloist, chorus and piano. Emerging Canadian composer Jeff Enns will be featured with two of his stunning new compositions. Folk songs arranged by Stephen Chatman will illustrate the diversity of Canada. Chatman's original composition 'Remember' and Allister MacGillivray's 'Here's To Song' are poignant reminders of the important things in life.
The ticket price includes an elegant reception with wine, appetizers and desserts. All concerts are on Sunday afternoons, with performances at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. unless stated otherwise. Guests for the 5:00 p.m. concert arrive at 4:00 p.m. to participate in the reception.

'Til The Fat Lady Sings is a sharp, satiric comedy that finds wit and humor in family traditions, as Pat and her son Sean are descended on by clueless, but well-meaning loved ones who arrive to offer help and advice during a family crisis. This includes a hyper-ventilating neighbor, a lonely divorcee, a failed milkman, two military police, and an uncle with a camera determined to take the family portrait. Written by the award-winning playwright Scott McPherson (Marvin's Room).
Citadel Theatre is a professional, not-for-profit theatre that has established itself on the far North Shore. Citadel is currently housed in the Grotto, a 70-seat black box performance space, in Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest.
